Marga

Marga was an order of the Bavarian music academy for 40 piece symphonic wind ensemble.

The three motives in the opening are the basis of the whole movement, varied in asymetric rythms, in straight eights and swing. The final canon is built on a poly rythm out of the gemelan tradition in 7/4.

Les trois motifs du début sont présents pendant tout le développement, variés vers les rythmes asymétriques mais aussi binaires et swing. La fin est basée sur une polyrythmie balinaise en 7/4 où le thème central est joué dans un canon dans lequel chaque voix est jouée dans une métrique plus lente.
